Is creating a Savory Hub right for me?

Each Savory Hub is unique. The Savory Institute has observed that strong hubs have the following characteristics. Above all, it is most important for hub leaders to be entrepreneurial and committed to achieving their vision of abundance for the land and people they serve through the hub. The strongest hub applicants tell us at the Savory Institute that they are going to do this work of regeneration with or without us, but they believe we are better together. Usually, we agree.  

  • A strong Hub team includes members with these skills sets and abilities:
    • Relationship and community building 
    • Marketing and communications 
    • Event planning and coordination
    • Education and teaching experience
    • Scientific literacy 
    • Land and livestock management experience
    • Policy creation experience
    • Financial management and accounting experience
    • Supply chain and sourcing experience
  • Access to, and management control over, land that can be managed holistically. 
  • Financial resources needed to launch the new Hub.
  • Relationships with local Savory Field Professionals who can teach farmers and ranchers, who have at least three years prior land and livestock management experience. The Savory Institute encourages new Hubs to have a leader in the Hub team who has three years of land and livestock experience so (1) they can become accredited faster as a Field Professional, as they will only need one year of using the Holistic Management planning procedures to become an accredited Field Professional, and (2) the Hub is equipped with the capacity they need on their team to enroll producers into Ecological Outcomes Verification (EOV).
